Who Can Apply
RDF provides financing and partnership opportunities to financial institutions, agribusinesses, and SMEs that meet defined eligibility standards — ensuring that supported entities are financially sound, compliant with regulations, and aligned with the Fund’s mission of strengthening agriculture, agribusiness, and renewable energy sectors in Ghana.
Eligibility by Entity Type
Legally registered in Ghana and enrolled on the Government's eRegistration (GeReg) system.
Hold all applicable and up-to-date licences (Banking/NBFI licence and business operating permit).
Meet the minimum paid-up capital set by the Bank of Ghana.
Maintain a minimum Capital Adequacy Ratio of 10% or the BoG prescribed level.
Hold at least 5% of their portfolio in agriculture, agribusiness, or renewable energy.
Maintain rural outreach through branches or branchless channels.
Have operated in Ghana for at least 5 years and been profitable for the last 3 years.
Maintain non-performing loans (NPLs) of not more than 15%.
Submit accurate audited financial statements for the last three years with no material post-audit issues.
RDF may grant waivers or exemptions upon recommendation by the CEO and approval by the appropriate authority. These can only be requested at the pre-qualification stage.
What We Will Not Finance
Illegal activities under Ghanaian law or international conventions
Forced labour or exploitative child labour
Production or use of hazardous materials (e.g., radioactive substances, unbounded asbestos, PCBs)
Commercial logging in primary tropical forests or old-growth forests
Racist, anti-democratic, or extremist media
Weapons, ammunition, military or police infrastructure
Activities that restrict individual rights or violate human rights
Environmentally harmful projects in protected or critical habitats
Morally controversial activities such as sex trade, pornography, gambling, tobacco production, or animal testing
Destruction of areas with high conservation value
Trade in protected wildlife or wildlife products (CITES-restricted)
Harmful fishing practices such as large-scale drift net or fine-mesh marine fishing
Production or trade in chemicals, pesticides, or ozone-depleting substances subject to international bans
